What is Star on Disney Plus?

Star is basically a new ‘sub-channel’ coming to Disney Plus overseas…

Since those of us in Canada, Europe, Aussie, New Zealand, and Asia don’t have Hulu, Star will gift us all with a lot of Disney-owned content across ABC Studios, 20th Century Studios, FX, Freeform, Searchlight Pictures, Touchstone Pictures and Hollywood Pictures!

Will the subscription price of Disney Plus increase with the addition of Star?

Yes… as with all streaming services, the monthly and annual subscription fee will be increasing this year.

The price will go up from £5.99 per month to £7.99 per month and from £59.99 per year to £79.99 per year for new subscribers from 23 February.

But if you’re a current subscriber, the price increase won’t apply until your first billing date after 23 August, 2021! So, if you a pay monthly fee, this will take effect over the Summer 2021 and if you pay a yearly fee, you’ll pay the new annual subscription price when your renewal is due after August 2021…

What if I pay my subscription annually and my yearly renewal is due between March – 22 August 2021?

Well, you’re in luck! If you originally subscribed to Disney Plus annually between March 2020 and 22 August 2020, that means you’re classed as one of Disney’s loyal subscribers! As a thank you from Disney, you won’t be paying the annual increase until your renewal in 2022!

When is Star coming to Disney Plus?
