- The film is based on the book ‘Falling Upwards: How We Took to the Air’ by Richard Holmes.
- Eddie Redmayne sprained his ankle during filming. Whens hooting a scene on an air ballon he walked on a crash mat, and tripped over it resulting in the injury. He ended up having to wear a leg brace!
- The film reunites Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones, who previously starred in 2014’s The Theory of Everything.
