Fun Facts

• Filming took place in and around Hungary, beginning February 2018.

• The film is based on the 2010 novel Radioactive: Marie & Pierre Curie: A Tale of Love and Fallout by Lauren Redniss.

• Radioactive is Director Marjane Satrapi’s first film based on a book that was written by another author. Her previous works, Persepolis and Chicken with Plums had both been created by her, in which she directed both film adaptations too.

• Director Marjane Satrapi was attached to the film in February 2017. It wasn’t until a year later, that filming actually began.

• Amazon Studios only acquired the rights, the same week filming started!
