Paramount moves Top Gun: Maverick, Mission: Impossible 7 & 8 and more releases
In the latest movie move, something we’ve come to know very well over the past year; Paramount Pictures has changed the dates for its 2021 and 2022 film slate, amid the continuing closure of movie theatres across the world.
Amongst the six films that have been shifted, Top Gun: Maverick and Mission: Impossible 7 & 8 have been delayed whilst Snake Eyes has moved up and will now be released sooner than expected! Here’s the new release dates:
- Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins
Previous release date: October 22, 2021
New release date: July 23, 2021 - Jackass 4
Previous release date: September 3, 2021
New release date: October 22, 2021
- Top Gun: Maverick
Previous release date: July 2, 2021
New release date: November 19, 2021 - Mission: Impossible 7
Previous release date: November 19, 2021
New release date: May 27, 2022 - Dungeons & Dragons
Previous release date: May 27, 2022
New release date: March 3, 2023 - Mission: Impossible 8
Previous release date: November 4, 2022
New release date: July 7, 2023
Whilst Top Gun 2 moves away from its fourth of July weekend, the Mission: Impossible sequels move all the way into late 2022 and summer 2023.
Production on Dungeons & Dragons still hasn’t commenced but will star Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, and Regé-Jean Page.
Whilst these dates could change again (although we hope they won’t), one thing we know for sure is that they will have a shorter theatrical run so they can begin streaming on Paramount+ sooner after release.
