Pixar’s Pizza Planet truck can be seen during the troll bridge toll scene.
There’s a few references to Lord of the Rings throughout the film! In Barley’s van, there’s a sign that says, “You shall not pass” whilst the fast-food restaurant The Burger Shire has a sign reading, “Now serving second breakfast.” In the Lord of the Rings, second breakfast is a meal enjoyed by the Hobbits, who all live in The Shire!
This is the first Pixar film without any involvement from John Lasseter.
Onward is Disney Pixar’s 22nd feature film!
