Following a group of women in England whose partners are away serving in Afghanistan. Faced with the men’s absences, they form a choir and quickly find themselves at the centre of a media sensation and global movement. Inspired by global phenomenon of military wives choirs, the story celebrates a band of misfit women who form a choir on a military base.

The film is inspired by the true story of the Military Wives Choirs; a network of 75 choirs in British military bases across the UK and overseas.
Bleecker Street only acquired rights for distribution across the US, after the film had its world premiere on September 6, 2019 during the 44th Annual Toronto International Film Festival.
Some members in the real Military Wives Choir acted as background extras in the film.
