Legend hits the big screen

Legend The highly anticipated biographical film about the notorious Kray brothers premiered this time last week (September 3) at the Odeon cinema in Leicester Square.

Brit actor, Tom Hardy plays both twin brothers, Reggie and Ronald Kray in this crime thriller. The Kray twins were well known gangster bosses during the 60s in the East end of London and this film charts their criminal career, their tumultuous relationship and their ultimate downfall; they were imprisoned for life in 1969 for murder. Both died in their 60s- Ronnie died from a heart attack and Reggie died from cancer.

Legend is based on The Profession of Violence: The Rise and Fall of the Kray Twins by John Pearson. Directed by Brian Helgeland, the film was shot around London. Other stars in the film are: Taron Egerton, Colin Morgan, Christopher Eccleston and Emily Browning.

The Universal Pictures film has a rating of 18 and is in cinemas NOW in the UK!This film is vied to be a great success for Hardy, who also achieved great success this summer with Mad Max: Fury Road. Thirty-seven- year old Hardy has also been in the headlines over the past couple of weeks as he has been tipped to be the new Bond! However, Bookmakers BoyleSports have slashed his odds of taking over the role from Daniel Craig; Hardy’s odds now stand at 4/1.
