  • In its opening weekend, Jurassic World grossed a total of $524.4 million which is also the biggest opening of all time. The film set the record for the largest IMAX opening with $44.1 million (previously held by Iron Man 3), the single day IMAX gross of $13 million and is the fifth highest grossing film of 2015 so far.
  • The fourth instalment in the Jurassic Park franchise has been in the talks since the third instalment was released in 2001. However, further development didn’t take action until 2011 when Steven Speilberg had met twice with Writer Mark Protosevich. Between 2001 and 2010 several actors were casted to play the lead roles with the screenplay and concept being re-written.
  • Jurassic World took 78 days to film, beginning on April 10, 2014 and concluding around July/August 2014. Filming took place in Hawaii, Louisiana, San Diego and other parts of California.
  • It is the first Jurassic Park film to have dinosaurs which were created by studio effects instead of animatronic dinosaurs.
  • The film was originally titled ‘Jurassic Park: Extinction’.
