It Chapter Two

Defeated by members of the Losers’ Club, the evil clown Pennywise returns 27 years later to terrorize the town of Derry, Maine, once again. Now adults, the childhood friends have long since gone their separate ways. But when people start disappearing, Mike Hanlon calls the others home for one final stand. Damaged by scars from the past, the united Losers must conquer their deepest fears to destroy the shape-shifting Pennywise — now more powerful than ever.

Fun Facts

  • Bill Skarsgård can actually move his eyes in two different directions! There was no editing or visual effects in the scenes where Pennywise crosses his eyes… it was all Skarsgård on his own!
  • The younger cast of IT (2017) were asked who they would like to play their older characters in Chapter Two. Finn Wolfhard chose Bill Hader as an older Richie Tozier whilst Sophia Lillis suggested Jessica Chastain for Beverly Marsh. It was only those two suggestions that ended up becoming a reality.
  • Jessica Chastain recommended James McAvoy for the role of Bill Denbrough and he got it! It was a favour in return of McAvoy recommending Chastain for the role of Vuk in X-Men: Dark Phoenix!
  • When the young Losers club cast suggested their ideal castings, Christian Bale turned down the role of Bill Denbrough and Chadwick Boseman had to say no to being cast as Mike Hanlon due to his contract with Marvel and commitments to Black Panther. Jaeden Martell wanted Bale to play Denbrough and Chosen Jacobs wanted Boseman to play an older Hanlon.
  • James McAvoy injured himself when filming his fight scene with Bill Skarsgård, his injury resulted in a double thigh strain.
