Production has officially begun on Quentin Tarantino’s ninth film, Once Upon A Time in Hollywood. Fans were treated to a sneak peek when Leonardo DiCaprio shared a photo of himself and fellow cast member, Brad Pitt in costume on the set of the new film over on his Instagram page.
The film is about a TV actor and his stunt double who embark on an odyssey to make a name for themselves in the film industry during the Charles Manson murders in 1969 Los Angeles.
During a panel at CinemaCon Las Vegas back in April, Tarantino described the film, saying; “It takes place at the height of the counter-culture explosion, at the height of the hippie revolution and the dawn of a new Hollywood.”
During the course of filming Tarantino aims to turn the streets of modern day Los Angeles into the psychedelic era of 1969 Hollywood.
Joining DiCaprio and Pitt is an impressive cast, including Margot Robbie, Al Pacino, Burt Reynolds, Dakota Fanning, Timothy Olyphant, Emile Hirsch, Zoe Bell, Kurt Russell, James Marsden and Michael Marsden.
The film is due to be released on August 9 2019 to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the Tate-LaBianca murders; the killings which brought Charles Manson and his “family” notoriety after they killed actress Sharon Tate and four others in the actresses home.
