Tomorrow, Tuesday January 12, the UK premiere of Creed takes place in London.
Creed is the seventh Rocky film, both a spin-off from the original series and a sequel to 2006’s Rocky Balboa. It was released in the United States on November 25, 2015, the fortieth anniversary of the date of the opening scene in the original Rocky.
Sylvester Stallone reprises the role of Rocky Balboa; a role for which he won a Golden Globe at Sunday night’s Golden Globes for Best Supporting Actor. Following his standing ovation, he thanked his “imaginary friend Rocky Balboa for being the best friend I ever had.”
In the film, Rocky trains and mentors the son of his old rival Apollo. Michael B. Jordan stars as Adonis Johnson Creed.
Creed also stars Tessa Thompson, Phylicia Rashad and Anthony Bellew. The film is directed by Ryan Coogler and written by Coogler and Aaron Covington and is on general release in the UK from from January 15.
