Renée Zellweger will finally return to the big screen as Bridget Jones this September and this time she’s expecting! Following her split from Mark Darcy (Colin Firth), Bridget’s idea of a “Happily Ever After” is not going the way she necessarily planned it to. Now being in her forties and single, she decides to focus on her career as a news producer, and believes everything is finally under control..until she meets a new love interest and newcomer cast member, Jack Qwant (Patrick Dempsey) who is everything Mark Darcy is far from! Patrick Dempsey replaces Hugh Grant’s role as Bridget’s new love interest as Mr Daniel Cleaver will not be making a return to the screen this time around.
In this instalment, Bridget falls pregnant and is uncertain to who the father of her baby is, putting her in a ‘little’ dilemma. She has Mark whom she has a long history with but then Jack on the other hand, who unexpectedly stumbles into her life and seems like the perfect guy. Whilst she questions who the father is, she informs Mark and Jack that she’s pregnant but leaves out the fact that she doesn’t know who she’s expecting with, causing more drama than she needs but a great story for us to watch unfold!
To make the film even more British, Bridget Jones’ Baby will have a very special cameo appearance from Singer, Ed Sheeran and Emma Thompson who has not only co-written and produced this film, will also be taking on the role of Bridget’s doctor!
Fun fact: Renée Zellweger revealed herself that the cast were also unsure who the father actually was during filming and they even filmed three different endings.
The world premiere took place in Leicester Square on Monday 5th September, you can see all the pics right here!
